My name is Winston Hearn, and I am interested in life. Life in all its glory, horror, and mundanity. I read a lot in the interest of living an examined life, and this blog is where I post links I want to reference later and thoughts stemming from recent readings.
I'm @justwinston on Twitter.
I make videos for a living, find out more here.

The Avett Brothers - “Murder In The City” (2008)
Looking back on 2009, this song (and video) was probably my favorite musical discovery of the year. I think it’s just about perfect, and it still gives me chills every time I listen to it.
FWIW, the Avett Brothers’ new, Rick Rubin-produced record is pretty good, too. Talented fellas, they.
For Christmas my sister gave my dad (who also discovered this song this year) a photo frame with pictures of us kids and the line “always remember there was nothing worth sharing, like the love that let us share our name.”
He liked it.
